Translation of "Kamome no uta (Song of Seagull)" written by Japanese female singer-songwriter Miyuki Nakajima. This is my second trial of Japanese-English translation (the first one is here, Shiina Ringo's "Identity"). For non-Japanese, this song may be known as Patricia Kaas's "Juste une chanson". The original Japanese lyrics is here. This song is really gloomy, but I occasionally wanna listen to this song. Enjoy!

Miyuki Nakajima - Song of Seagull

Some day when you realize you are alone
Remember this song
When the gentlest consolation can't be your remedy
Sing this song alone
Relating sighs of whom someone abandoned more than you
Let the wind blow
Relating tears of whom someone cried more than you
Let it rain

No one is born to a seagull
She is a just another laughing woman
Soul is escaping from the body
And it is rising, rising to the sky

If I can turn back my clock
And start all my life over
Will I be able to live withdrawing from love
So that I won't cry again

No one is born to a seagull
She is a just another laughing woman
Soul is escaping from the body
And it is rising, rising to the sky

Memories favor much
It always takes sides with someone who has gone
It's too late to concern, true or not
Just put the blame on me
Some day when you realize you are alone
Remember this song
When the gentlest consolation can't be your remedy
Sing this song alone

No one is born to a seagull
She is a just another laughing woman
Soul is escaping from the body
And it is rising, rising to the sky

No one is born to a seagull
She is a just another laughing woman
Soul is escaping from the body
And it is rising, rising to the sky
